“While in 1986 a nuclear power plant in the most literal sense goes up in the air, the association Energiewerkstatt is founded in Neumarkt am Wallersee.
As the first independent energy advice centre, meetings, field trips and solar collector DIY-courses are organized before the development of wind energy utilization is tackled. The first home-built wind turbines show the enormous potential in the wind and so the first citizen participation projects for the construction of larger, more efficient plants in the 500 kW class are being developed shortly afterwards.
After founding a subsidiary which made its own way quite soon, Energiewerkstatt focused mainly on processing complex topics. Research projects are realized and ideas&products are pushed to marketability.
Among other, plants for the production of biogas from meadow grass are planned and projects for bio methane processing and gas feed-in are developed.”
